How it works

Care Hub Plus is a personal alarm system with fall detection technology. It features a base unit and pendant alarm and can send for help automatically if the user suffers a fall.

If the pendant detects a fall, the device sends an SOS signal to the base unit and beeps for 10 seconds. During this pre-alarm sequence, the wearer has 10 seconds to cancel the alarm using the pendant’s unique ‘shake to cancel’ feature. If the alarm is not cancelled, the warning beeps stop and the outer edge of the pendant begins to glow. This lets the user know that the alert has been received by the base unit and is being sent to your emergency contacts via the SECOM Care app.

When your emergency contacts receive your notification, they can use the app to let us know if they are responding to your alarm or need us to intervene. If your emergency contacts do not respond or are unavailable, a member of our 24-hour monitoring team will get in touch right away. They will know who you are, your address and any medical information you have shared with us. They will coordinate with the emergency services to make sure you receive the help you need.

Care Hub Plus Features

Care Hub Plus includes a base unit and Pearl Advanced pendant alarm.

The base unit is easy to install and guides users through the installation process with spoken instructions. It is mains powered, doesn’t require a landline or internet connection, and features a built-in microphone and speaker so you can talk directly to a member of our monitoring team.

The Pearl Advanced is waterproof and comes with a hypoallergenic stainless steel necklace. It is recommended that users wear it as often possible, even in the bath or shower. The alarm uses sensors and a six-stage algorithm to monitor your movements and minimise false activations.

Care Hub Plus is a rental service, which means you only have to pay for renting your equipment. This keeps the initial cost of signing up down and means you don’t have to worry about replacing your device – if anything breaks or wears over time, we’ll replace it free of charge!

There is a one-off setup fee of £82.92 (£99.50 including VAT) that covers the delivery and registration of your device.
